Michael Baker Automotive experienced and certified mechanics can provide full logbook servicing for an array of models, such as Holden, Ford, Mazda, Toyota, Nissan, BMW, Audi, Hyundai, Honda, and Kia - among many others. Following the Log Book Service schedule set out by your cars manufacturer helps maintain your rights to a new car warranty - and keeps your car running at its best. It is not necessary to have a physical Log Book present; we just have to stick to the manufacturer's guidelines. We are more than happy to supply you with a Log Book so that you can record your car's service history - an advantage if you ever decide to resell your vehicle. A lot of people mistakenly assume that the only way to maintain their new car warranty is to return to the car dealership for Log Book Servicing. However, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission have always made it clear that you have the freedom to choose any mechanic or service center you trust to perform the service as long as they are certified to do so. See the facts: Over time, some of your vehicle's parts can start to wear down, leading to either their breakdown or failure. To prevent this, and guarantee your safety, we offer a service schedule - telling you what parts and fluids need to be replaced on your car and when - so that your car's performance and reliability remain at the highest levels. If you're looking to have your vehicle's logbook Service taken care of, don't hesitate to contact Michael Baker Automotive and make a booking today. Have more questions about your logbook service? What is a logbook service? A logbook service is a scheduled service carried out according to the specifications set by your vehicle manufacturer. Your logbook outlines which components, fluids and systems should be inspected, serviced or replaced at particular kilometre or time intervals. Following this schedule helps ensure important maintenance is completed when required rather than waiting for a problem to develop. Do I have to take my car back to the dealership for logbook servicing? No. You can choose a qualified independent workshop to carry out your scheduled servicing. Michael Baker Automotive is fully qualified to perform logbook servicing in Blayney. We follow the manufacturer's service specifications and use appropriate quality parts and fluids for your vehicle. Will using an independent mechanic void my new car warranty? Having your vehicle serviced by an independent qualified mechanic does not automatically void your new car warranty. To help maintain warranty requirements, servicing should be completed according to the manufacturer's specifications, using appropriate quality parts and fluids, with the required service information properly recorded. If you are unsure about the servicing requirements for your particular vehicle, speak with our team before booking. How often does my car need a logbook service? Service intervals vary between manufacturers and vehicle models. Your car may require servicing after a certain number of kilometres, after a particular period of time, or whichever occurs first. Check your owner's manual or service logbook for the recommended interval. If you're not sure when your next service is due, Michael Baker Automotive can help you determine the appropriate servicing schedule. What is included in a logbook service? The work required depends on your vehicle's age, kilometres travelled and the particular service interval. A logbook service may include an engine oil and oil filter change, fluid checks, brake inspection, tyre inspection, steering and suspension checks, battery checks, belts and hoses, filters and other maintenance items specified by the manufacturer. Some major scheduled services require additional components to be inspected or replaced. Is a logbook service different from a general car service? Yes. A logbook service specifically follows the manufacturer's scheduled maintenance requirements for your particular vehicle and its current service interval. A general service may include many of the same checks and maintenance tasks, but it is not necessarily based on the manufacturer's complete scheduled servicing requirements. Can Michael Baker Automotive service new cars? Yes. Michael Baker Automotive can provide new car logbook servicing in Blayney, including vehicles that are still within their new car warranty period. Our technicians have access to current servicing information and undertake ongoing technical training to keep up with modern vehicle servicing requirements. Can you service different makes and models? Yes. Michael Baker Automotive services a wide variety of makes and models, including petrol and diesel vehicles, AWDs, 4WDs, utes, vans and light commercial vehicles. If you're unsure whether we can service your particular vehicle, simply contact our team. What happens if my mechanic finds another problem during the service? Scheduled servicing can sometimes identify worn or damaged components that require additional attention. If we discover an issue outside the scheduled service requirements, we can explain what has been found and discuss any recommended repairs with you. Finding developing problems during routine servicing may also help prevent a smaller issue from becoming a more expensive repair later. What happens if I miss a scheduled logbook service? Delaying scheduled maintenance can contribute to increased wear, reduced performance and unexpected mechanical problems. It may also complicate warranty matters if a problem develops and required maintenance has not been completed. If your car is overdue for servicing, don't put it off further. Contact Michael Baker Automotive and we can help get your vehicle's maintenance back on track. Do you stamp or update my service logbook? When applicable, your service records can be updated to document that the scheduled maintenance has been completed. Maintaining a clear service history is useful for keeping track of your vehicle's maintenance and may also be valuable when it comes time to sell or trade the vehicle. Why is regular logbook servicing important? Regular servicing isn't just about changing the engine oil. Scheduled maintenance gives your mechanic an opportunity to inspect important vehicle systems and identify wear or developing problems. Staying on top of servicing can help maintain your vehicle's reliability, performance, efficiency and safety while potentially reducing the risk of unexpected breakdowns and costly repairs. Where can I get a logbook service in Blayney? Michael Baker Automotive provides professional logbook servicing from our workshop at 131 Adelaide Street, Blayney NSW 2799. Life's full of hot moments, and your vehicle engine shouldn't be one of them! Who else knows this better than your trusted automobile doc, the unsung hero of your car—the cooling system? The silent hero in the heart of your vehicle that ensures things keep on running cool under your hood. The Cooling System Explained: Playing It Cool Under Pressure Your engine needs a helping hand in handling all that power without losing its cool, literally! The coolant, a mixture of water and antifreeze, gets pushed through pipes and chambers within the engine by the water pump, absorbing the heat produced. This heat-laden coolant then heads over to the radiator where the hot air dissipates into the environment, hence maintaining your engine's equilibrium. Simply put, without this guardian angel, your beloved engine would turn into an over-baked pie! Prevention Is Better Than Overhaul Let's spill the beans, people; all of this magic happening beneath the hood of your vehicle doesn't mean the cooling system doesn't need checkups and love too. Engines that operate through internal combustion rely on large amounts of clean air to ensure the fuel burns properly and generates the power needed to drive the vehicle. At Michael Baker Automotive in Blayney, we understand how vital it is to keep your car's air filter in good condition as part of protecting your engine's health. Your engine requires extremely clean air to function efficiently. Dirt, dust, and other particles entering the engine can cause serious damage. That’s where the air filter comes into play. It ensures the air entering the combustion chambers is clean, shielding key engine components such as the pistons and cylinders from wear and damage. Why Replace Your Air Filter? Save on Fuel Costs: Your engine requires the correct balance of fuel and air to run efficiently. A clogged air filter restricts airflow, causing your engine to run inefficiently – often referred to as ‘running rich.’ This not only puts additional stress on your engine but can also increase fuel consumption by up to 10%. No one likes spending more on petrol than necessary! Protect Your Engine: Over time, air filters become clogged and weaker, increasing the risk of damage. A damaged or overly dirty air filter can allow harmful particles to enter the engine, potentially leading to expensive repairs. Benefits of Replacing Your Air Filter: Extends the life of your engine Improves fuel efficiency Reduces vehicle emissions At Michael Baker Automotive, we always check the condition of your air filter during every full car service. Whether it’s a major or minor service, or one that follows your manufacturer’s handbook or logbook guidelines, you can trust us to keep your engine running smoothly.

Keep your engine healthy with clean air filters. Improve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and extend engine life. Visit Michael Baker Automotive for expert maintenance and reliable car servicing.
